On the hill were ruins of many buildings from the Middle Ages. Can you see me sitting in the corner nearest the camera?

This is more my size! Here, I'm sitting in a model of how it once looked up here. Before the buildings were ruins, that is.

Tonsberg's land mark, the castle tower. This tower was built in 1871, for the 1000 year celebration of the town. It has nothing to do with the old castle that once stood here. You can perhaps see me on the top of the stairs there, on the right side? Well, I am tiny...

Three kings from modern times have signed their names on the castle tower's outer wall. King Haakon VII (same as in the picture on the previous page) and his grandson which is king now; King Harald V. Bjørn tells me the R. means Rex. Hm... funny they all have dog names.
