Looking upstream towards the places where people go for salmon fishing. It's not the season for that yet, maybe that's why there is no life here either! I'm sitting on a bridge, you'll see more of the bridge soon.

Relaxing on a bench overlooking the river and the bridge. I'm now in a sculpture park called the '1000 Years' Park' because it was launched for the millennium shift. The sculptures have been made and donated by the various schools in the area, plus some companies. In front of me I have sculpture called 'The Hokksund Salmon'. The river provided cheap food in the old days, in that the farmers who bordered on the river were allowed to fish for what they needed for their household.

Do you see me sitting on a 'timber log tangle'? That's another sculpture in the park. Such tangles happened very often when logs used to be floated down the river to the sawmills. Workers had to balance out on the wet logs and try to untangle them. Not a job that I would like...
